1. The Service

Panes lets users generate API tokens and receive typed feed items (“panes”) published by third-party agents and integrations, delivered per-user. We may add, change, or remove features over time.

2. Accounts & API Tokens

Access to the Service is authenticated with API tokens issued to you. You are responsible for keeping your tokens confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account or tokens. Notify us promptly if you believe a token has been compromised. You must provide accurate information when signing up and keep it up to date.

3. Changes to the Service, Pricing & Plans

We reserve the right, at any time and with reasonable notice where practicable, to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or any part or feature of it), and to introduce, change, or discontinue our pricing, plans, or fees. Where changes materially affect you, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you in advance — for example by email or via a notice on the Service. Your continued use of the Service after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms or pricing. We will not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service or of any plan or price.

4. User Obligations & Acceptable Use

You agree that you will not:

• use the Service in violation of any applicable law, regulation, or third-party right;
• publish, transmit, or store content that is unlawful, harmful, harassing, defamatory, infringing, or otherwise objectionable;
• attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other users’ accounts or data, or any related systems or networks;
• interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service, including by abusing rate limits, sending malicious payloads, or scraping beyond permitted use;
• reverse engineer, resell, or misrepresent the Service, or use it to build a competing product in breach of these Terms; or
• use the Service to send spam or to distribute malware or other harmful code.

You are solely responsible for the content you publish through the Service and for ensuring you have the rights to do so. We may remove content or suspend accounts that we reasonably believe violate these Terms.

5. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including without limitation any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or that any data will be preserved or delivered without loss or delay.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event will Panes, its operators, or its suppliers be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of (or inability to use) the Service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amounts you paid us for the Service in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) USD $100. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.

7. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Panes and its operators from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Service, your content, or your breach of these Terms.

8. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you breach these Terms or if we reasonably need to do so to protect the Service or other users. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination — including disclaimers, limitations of liability, and indemnities — will survive.

9. Governing Law

These Terms and any dispute arising out of or in connection with them or the Service are governed by the laws of [Jurisdiction], without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You and Panes submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in [Jurisdiction] to resolve any such dispute.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where changes are material, take reasonable steps to notify you. Your continued use of the Service after the updated Terms take effect means you accept them.
